Konza Prairie field trip itinerary

8:00 - 8:30 am TBA - KU bus pickup at DoubleTree, campus, and downtown hotels to deliver to Kansas Union

8:30 - 10 am - Passenger vans to KPBS headquarters.

10:00 - 10:30 am - Welcome and introduction to the site by John Blair or another KPBS staff member at the meeting hall. 

10:30 am - 12:00 pm - Bison Loop tour with selected stops to highlight research and interesting ecological/geological features (accompanied by KUBI botany staff and John Blair or other KPBS staff member).

12:00 -12:45 pm - lunch (box lunch provided) at headquarters (outside if the weather is nice; in the meeting hall if the weather doesn't cooperate).

12:45 - 3:00 pm - KUBI botany staff lead groups on one or more hiking trails (Kings Creek Loop or Godwin Hill Loop). 

3:00 - 4:40 pm - travel from KPBS back to Lawrence with dropoff stops downtown, on campus, and DoubleTree.  

What to bring: sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, hat, water
